Start Point: Mungrisdale Grid Ref: NY 363 302
Distance:  11 miles Ascent:  3,250 feet
Weather: A bright and sunny day but a cold wind on top

Comments: A pleasant walk, one of the easiest routes up Blencathra. We were surprised to find thousands of caterpillars on Bowscale Fell. Later research found that such great numbers occur every 7 years.
