Walk: Belmont Church, Spring Reservoir, Winter Hill Trig point, Lad Stones, Pike Cottage, Rivington Pike, Noon Hill, Hordern Stoops, Hoar Stones Brow, Belmont
Start Point: St Peter's Church Grid Ref: SD 674 158
Distance:  8 miles Ascent:  1,200 feet
Weather: A mainly sunny day
Accompanied by:

Marie, Gill, Andrea and Shep (led by me)

Comments: This walk was taken from the Lancashire Country Walks booklet "Five Half-Day Walks Around the West Pennine Moors". We climbed gradually over rough ground and track until we reached the trig point at Winter Hill summit. Instead of taking the short, boggy route across to Rivington Pike we walked down road and track to Two Lads Hill on Wilders Moor. Turning NW we followed the route to Pike Cottage - it is worth following this route just to admire the garden! Rivington Pike was very busy so we continued on to Noon Hill before finding a sheltered spot for lunch. From here it was all downhill on reasonable paths.
