On my own

Comments: Having done this walk a few times a couple of years ago I wasn't going to do a recce for the following day when I would be leading it for our group. However, at the last minute I decided to check it out. Although gale force winds were forecast I didn't think this would be a problem as the route was on wide grassy fells. As the weather improved greatly in the afternoon it turned out to be a pleasant walk but quite tiring through battling the elements in the morning. I found the terrain to be much wetter than on previous occasions and needed to find ways around particularly boggy sections. I did not take the camera as I wasn't expecting the weather to improve enough to make carrying it worthwhile.
