Walk: Nicky Nook, Fell End, Grizedale Bridge, Barnacre Moor, Burns Farm, Tithe Barn Lane
Start Point: Scorton Grid Ref: SD 501 487
Distance: 7.4 miles Ascent: 1,140 feet
Weather: A crisp sunny day Time: 4.25 hours
Comments: It was a perfect day for walking with wall to wall sunshine and frozen ground that made the potentially muddy sections much easier to navigate. Arriving at the trig point on Nicky Nook there were good views in all directions and snow could be seen on the higher Lakeland Fells. We faced a cold breeze as we ascended to Barnacre Moor but the sun and climb counteracted the cold. A couple of steep descents were easy to navigate, particularly as the section leading down to Grizedale Brook was stepped! An enjoyable walk on a lovely day.
