Walk: Wray Crag, Shipman Knotts, Kentmere Pike, Harter Fell, Gatescarth Pass, Tarn Crag, Grey Crag, Great Howe
Start Point: Sadgill Grid Ref: NY 583 057
Distance: 10 miles Ascent: 2,700 feet
Weather: Sunny with a foot of snow Time: 7 hours
Comments: A fantastic day for walking and taking in the many excellent views. The deep snow made walking more difficult the higher we got but the rewards were worth the energy expended. The climb to Tarn Crag was long and steep and we were relieved to finally spot the water survey pillar. The weather began to close in by the time we reached Grey Crag but, fortunately it cleared again and it was a relief that the final steep descent wasn't hampered by snow. Everyone agreed that it had been an excellent day.
