Walk: Dean Brook, Grenngore, Spire Hill, Longridge Fell, Walker Fold, Stonyhurst College
Start Point: Hurst Green Community Centre Grid Reference: SD 684 382
Distance: 9 miles Ascent: 1,180 feet
Time: 5.25 hours
Weather: Sunny and cold
Comments: Despite the ground being frozen there were still a lot of muddy sections. The cold crisp weather ensured good views to the Chipping Fells and to Pendle Hill.

Setting out beside Dean Brook . . .

our route took us past Greengore, a 17th century hunting lodge

Looking back to Pendle Hill

Temporary repair!?

Is this the latest in garden features?

Lots of sbowdrops - but not quite open yet

Spire Hill . . .

with great views to the Chipping Fells

An unusual feature on our descent . . .

provides a frame for the distant view

Sunny wood - and Marie

St Peter's Church in Stonyhurst College . . .

which underwent extensive repair and refurbishment in 2010–11
