Walk: Nicky Nook, Fell End, Grizedale Bridge, Holme Wood, Grize Dale, Slean End, Higher Lane
Start Point: Scorton, Wyresdale Park Grid Reference: SD 508 490
Distance: 6 miles Ascent: 900 feet
Time: 3 hours
Weather: Overcast but mild
Comments: An enjoyable walk over Nicky Nook with Marie and her neice Kathy-Ann who was visiting from Australia. We enjoyed a good lunch at The Applestore, next to Wyresdale Hall where some buildings are being refurbished to provide a wedding venue.

Happy families at Fell End farm

I seem to recognise this novel stile . . .

cut into a fallen tree . . .

but it looked very different in 2008

A bordwalk now bipasses the stile

The back of Wyresdale Hall . . .

overlooks lovely gardens . . .

with multi-coloured hydrangeas

Looks like a rhodedendron leaf but an unusual flower

Another unusual flower beside the Applestore
