Walk: River Wharfe, Bolton Priory, Cavendish Memorial, Strid Wood, Wooden Bridge, Dales Way footpath, Waterfall Bridge
Start Point: Bolton Abbey car park Grid Reference: SE 072 539
Distance: 4 miles Ascent: 364 feet
Time: 3 hours including stops
Weather: Mild with sunny spells
Comments: It would be better to park at the Riverside car park further along the road after the Bolton Abbey car park. The Dales Way footpath included many activities for children and is a narrower path than on the other side of the river, making it quite busy.

The side door of the Priory Church, behind which . . .

are the ruins of the Augustinian Priory

The Priory is surrounded . . .

by many ancient headstones and includes Commonwealth War Graves

Luna enjoys cooling off in the River Wharfe . . .

but can't find THE stone

One way only on the stepping stones . . .

so we take the bridge
