Walk: Tan Yard Lane, Tootle Height, Nook Fold, Upper Dilworth Resrvoir, James Smith Playing Fields, Tan Yard Lane
Start Point: Home
Distance: 3 miles Ascent: 297 feet
Time: 3.25 hours
Weather: Sunny with a heavy frost
Comments: Recently a local footpath had been redirected so I decided to explore its route today. Instead of having to walk across private land following a permitted footpath, the route now skirts around the property. The newly installed kissing gate and metal gate are now used instead of having to navigate a steep ladder stile and a dilapidated step stile. Further along the route another kissing gate has replaced a very tricky step stile and further gates have been replaced by new ones.

The new gate leads into a reasonably dry field . . .

where it looks like the heavy frost is causing a rising mist on the reservoirs . . .

and another new gate provides access to the path across to . . .

the caravan park . . .

which is much easier than the previous one

The path through the woodland leads to . . .

more new gates . . .

which can be admired from the nearby seat . . .

good to see a wooden gate . . .

though the other two are metal!

A last view of the reservoirs . . .

before heading into the park and yet another view of Parlick Pike across frost covered fields
