Cavernberg to Johannesburg

Monday, 19th April 2010

With all the problems caused by the ash cloud from the Icelandic volcano we knew that our return to England was not going to take place as originally planned. However, George informed us that we were to transfer to the airport and we would be informed of what Ramblers Holidays had organised for us in due course. After dropping Ralph and Katy off at the airport, to catch their flight to Cape Town, we were taken to the Southern Sun Hotel, a top class establishment. Dinner was takem in the hotel, where other travellers told their tales of the hold-ups since Thursday when the problems started.

A relaxing morning at the hotel

All packed up and ready to go . . .

so time for a few photos . . .

around the hotel . . .

as we fill in time . . .

before the coach leaves . . .

And a wasp . . .

enjoys its breakfast

The variety of plants . . .

could keep me busy for hours . . .

but before long . . .

it's time to return . . .

to the hotel . . .

where one of the dogs enjoys the sun . . .

and the Bird of Paradise . . .

is overseen by a lady . . .

and a man . . .

who direct you to - - - - - - !

Sterkfontein Dam . . .

from the coach
