| Weather: | A dull day with low mist and some drizzle | ||

| Comments: | Having abandoned our original plans to climb Helvellyn, because of low mist, we decided to do a short walk to Stone Arthur and then spend some time in Ambleside. After walking up to the footbridge over Tongue Gill, we took a path South to South-West across Brackenwife Knotts and on to Stone Arthur. We then descended by the main route, emerging onto the A591. | ||

A dull looking Grasmere as we head up Tongue Gill

Cloud creeps round Little Tongue Gill

Beginning the climb from the bridge

The Helm Crag ridge and Far Easedale

It looks a little brighter in Grasmere now but the cloud base is still low

Could this be Stone Arthur?
