Walk: Throstlerake Crags, Moor Gill, Black Combe, Charley Fold, Butcher's Breast, Whitbeck
Start Point: Large lay-by off A595 south of Townend Hall Grid Ref: SD 120 837
Distance: 7.25 miles Ascent: 2,000 feet
Weather: Started out sunny and hot but became damp with mist on the summit
Accompanied by:

Marie, Andrea, Gill and Shep

Comments: After the initial climb through bracken we eventually joined the main route from Whicham. From here it was a clear route to the summit but by this time the temperature had dropped and the thick mist hid the Blackcombe Screes. Heading down a pleasant grassy path the weather cleared and we had some views along the coast.

The early drizzle has stopped and the sun has come out has we prepare to start the walk

Climbing up through bracken we have a good view of the coast . . .

and eventually reach a wide green path

But we have climbed into the mist . . .

and it is very cold on the summit

The weather clears as we descend and . . .

we follow a very pleasant green path as we check out the coastal views

One of the becks crossed on the way down
