Walk: Worsaw End House, Worston Moor, Scout Cairn, Ogden Clough, Pendle Hill, Barley, Overhouses Farm, Pike Law, Great Coppy, Lane Head, Downham Beck
Start Point: Downham, car park Grid Ref: SD 784 440
Distance: 10.2 miles Ascent: 2,460 feet
Weather: Overcast Time: 5.5 hours
Comments: Another visit to Pendle Hill with the intention to try out variations on a previous route. From Downham I walked to Worsaw End then up to the Scout Cairn. When I reached the wall just beyond the shelter I turned right instead of going over the stile. This took me to the higher reaches of Ogden Clough but it was a rather boggy route. From the Clough I followed the paved track to the summit then dropped down into Barley. Taking the path to the west corner of Lower Black Moss Reservoir I continued on past Windy Harbour Farm to meet Barley Lane. From here my route headed over Pike Law and across Great Coppy where the path made its way through tall grass over very boggy ground. After reaching Pendle Road I took a fairly direct path back to Downham -  good day but with some sections I would not repeat.

Looks like there is an infestation of ants in this garden

Christmas Trees?

A delightful garden at Ings End

The sign post is nearly lost in the tall grass on Great Coppy

No summer dress for these trees
