Start Point: | Glenridding car park | Grid Reference: | NY 386 169 |
Distance: | 12 miles | Ascent: | 4,200 feet |
Time: | 7 hours | ||
Weather: | A light mist and drizzle at the start of the walk soon cleared to become a sunny day with quite a strong wind on the tops. | ||
Comments: | A steep'ish' climb up The Rake soon took us onto Glenridding Dodd where there were great views over Ullswater. Returning to the hause we then started the main steep climb of the day, taking us over rocky ground that was mainly quite easy to navigate. By the time we reached Sheffield Pike the wind was quite strong but we managed to find a sheltered spot for our morning break. After another climb to Hart Side the route then followed a series of 'ups' and downs' to visit 5 more Wainwrights. After descending into the Glenridding Valley it was then an easy walk back to the car park. |

From White Side we have a good view back to Raise . . .
