Walk: Stonyhurst College, River Hodder, Cromwell Bridge, Winkley Hall Farm, Ribble Way, Jumbles Rocks, The Shireburn
Start Point: Hurst Green roadside Grid Reference: SD 684 381
Distance: 7.2 miles Ascent: 523 feet

Weather: Mainly overcast but mild for time of year.
Comments: Walk done in the opposite direction to when it was started previously but had to be cut short. Interesting to see matting being used to maintain the path. This was also seen near the beginning of the walk sometime ago and was settling in well.

Autumn colours with Pendle Hill behind

If you go down to the woods today!!!!

Looking back up

Possibly the base of a cross?

Cromwell Bridge, near Lower Hodder Bridge

Unusual tree shape

Seen near Winkley Farm

The confluence of the River Hodder on the left . . .

and the River Ribble straight ahead . . .

continue as the River Ribble . . .

to be joined by the River Calder

near Hacking Hall

where the flood level of the River Ribble can be seen half way up the bush

Jumbles Rocks where I take a break

Matting is being used to replace the path . . .

as I approach the aquaduct
