Walk: With a dry day forecast I decided on a fairly local walk along part of the Tolkein Trail. The route was very quiet until I started the return section through the grounds of Stonyhurst College.
Start Point: Hurst Green Village Hall car park Grid Reference: SD 684 382
Distance: 6 miles Ascent: 345 feet
Time: 2.2 hours
Weather: Sunny with a cold start
Comments: Good views over the river and only a couple of muddy sections on the footpath.
