Walk: Long Lane, Wyresdale Park, new Wyresdale car park, Nicky Nook, Syphon Well, Grize Dale, Slean End, Tithe Barn Lane,Wyre Way
Start Point: Scorton Picnic Site Grid Reference: SD 504 503
Distance: 6.8 miles Ascent: 784 feet
Time: 2 hours 50 minutes
Weather: Mainly sunny spells
Comments: Marie and I have done the middle part of this walk many times but the beginning and end was new to us. It is now possible to walk from the Wyresdale Cafe car park using a woodland footpath across Tithe Barn Brook to a new Wyresdale Park car park then along a gravel footpath to the top of Snowhill Lane. The last part of the walk, from Scorton to the car park, along the Wyre Way was very overgrown.

Luna arrives at Nicky Nook trig point . . .

and I join her

The water looks rather green . . .

in Grizedale Reservoir . . .

and the level is very low

Heading up to Slean End . . .

Luna decides to join Marie . . .

while I focus in on the tree roots
