Comments: | Passing the Grawa Falls, a very pleasant climb took us to the hanging valley and the Sulzenau Alm. A short break here gave us time to admire the many carvings at the Alm. Being Saturday, there were a number of families enjoying the climb and the facilities in the valley. We then ascended to the Sulzehau Hutte and continued straight on to the Blue Lake - very appropriately named. After a short stop for photos we returned to the Sulzenau Hutte for lunch and we were eventually joined by the other group whose route had taken them over Pieloch. |
After crossing the Oberbergbach . . .
we reach the viewing point . . .
of the Grawa Falls
An interesting set of steps take us up to . . .
another viewing point . . .
where we get a close look at the spray . . .

More innovative steps
Pretty - but what are they?
After reaching the top of the first climb . . .
we make our way into the hanging valley . . .
and across a couple of bridges . . .
to find lots of people enjoying the day
The Sulzenau Alm is the home to lots of carvings . . .
including this graphic one
We enjoy a refeshment break . . .
before continuing on towards the waterfall . . .
where our path . . .
passes quite close . . .
to the rushing water
As the path turns away from the waterfall . . .
I check out the view back down to the valley

The glacier comes into view . . .
as we head across the bridge . . .
and take a closer look
