Saturday, 17th September
At the 'Arrivals' exit point Jeanie was waiting to welcome guests on their way to Puerto de Sóller, making sure that we didn't get side tracked by Peter who was looking for those travelling straight to Sant Elm. We were ushered onto the coach which would travel across the Tramuntana mountain range to reach the Hotel Marina, situated close to a wide beach and away from the busy 'touristy' section of the bay. Rooms were quickly allocated, allowing plenty of time to explore this natural harbour. Walking to the opposite side of this oval bay the tourists, along with the mandatory gift shops, were much in evidence. Also at this side were boats of many kinds from small dinghies to large fishing vessels. It wasn't long before I was ready to retreat to the relative peacefulness of 'our side' of the bay and the comfort of the hotel. |
