Leaving the hotel we walked up the main street to take in the view of Dragonara. After another couple of streets we followed a narrow path through trees and bushes. This eventually led to a wider track making its way inland to a cemetery. We had a brief stop here to explore the burial traditions in Mallorca. Coffins are placed in compartments one above the other rather than being put into the ground. From here it was a short walk into S’Aracó where we stopped for lunch. Time was allowed to explore the village before heading out along the road. We climbed part way up the hillside then contoured through the valley to reach good views of the coast and Sant Elm. A steep descent took us down to a road that led back into Sant Elm in time for a swim. |
