After walking up Fell Foot
Brow and on to Gummers How we found a sheltered spot for
elevenses. Descending back to Fell Foot Brow we then
continued on to Sow How Lane and NW to the monument on
Cartmel Fell. Dropping down Raven's Barrow it was time
for lunch before continuing on to St Anthony's Church. A
short visit inside the church was rewarded by the
perfect lighting for taking photos. Reaching Foxfield we
followed a path that was marked on the map, only to find
that it wasn't a Right of Way - next time we need to
walk further up the hill to find the Right of Way. We
continued on past Simpson Ground Reservoir and through
Staveley-in-Cartmel, then along the road to the car.
This being the first day of a long weekend in the Lakes
we only had a short journey to the Windermere Hotel
which proved to be a comfortable venue for our stay. |
