Walking straight from the
hotel we made our way through some of the back streets
of Windermere before climbing onto School Knott. From
here we circumnavigated Grandsire to reach School Knott
Plantation. Walking through fields we crossed the train
track and the main road to reach Grove. From here we
climbed through Common Wood to Orrest Head where we had
lunch. We then returned to the hotel where we collected
the cars and made our way home. A very pleasant and
relaxed long weekend of walking with very reasonable
weather for the beginning of March. |
