Walk:

Hoffman Kiln, Stainforth Force, Hargreaves Barn, Feizor, A Pennine Journey, Stackhouse, Langcliffe Place

Start Point: Langcliffe Grid Reference: SD 823 650
Distance: 8.45 miles Ascent: 1,131 feet
Time: 4.5 hours
Weather: Sunny and mild with a cool breeze
Comments: With good weather forecast we were able to get out for a decent walk. After a short tour of the Hoffman Kiln we made our way to Stainforth Force for a lunch stop and were entertained by some youngsters exploring the Falls. A steady climb took us across to Feizor but our return route was slightly hampered by numerous tractor tracks on the usually pleasant grass surface.

The Hoffman Kiln is the main attraction . . .

of the Craven Lime Works trail . . .

which includes the remains of the building that used to house . . .

a big wheel that hauled wagons up the inclined plane

Stainforth Force provided the playground . . .

for some young lads . . .

who explored the various levels of water
