| Comments: | The path that we took by the fence leaving Holme Beck was quite steep. There may be another path at the other side of the fence which ascends more gradually. There is also another path on the other side of Holme Beck that could be worth investigating on future walks. It is quite a bleak route as it was misty and we didn't have any views. The weather was not very pleasant until we were well on our way back. | ||

From Blake Fell our route was clear to Gavel Fell - once the mist had lifted
We weren't sure if it was the shelter or a nearby cairn that was the Wainwright but later investigation indicates that it is the shelter
