Walk: Foulsyke, Low Fell, Fellbarrow, Loweswater
Start Point: Foulsyke Grid Ref: NY 141 214
Distance:  6.5 miles Ascent:  1,600 feet
Weather: It was bright to start off with but there was a strong head wind and snow after Low Fell. We had a heavy snow shower as we left Fellbarrow but the weather had improved by the time we reached Loweswater.
Accompanied by:

Marie, Andrea, Gill & Shep, led by me

Comments: We enjoyed walking straight from the cottage but there was a stiff climb in snow before too long. The head wind and snow was unpleasant between Low Fell and Fellbarrow. Shep gathered snow on his fur and these eventually made it difficult for him to walk so they had to be removed. The weather improved by the time we reached Loweswater and we had a pleasant walk back to the cottage.

A very white morning as we set out from the cottage - looking over Crummock Water to Rannerdale Knotts

Is it Christmas already?

Heading up the climb to Low Fell - steeper than we expected . . .

and more snow than we thought there would be

Full winter gear in April on Low Fell . . .

and more weather coming in on Fellbarrow . . .

as the snow starts - too heavy to take any more photographs
