Walk: Deepdale Park, Hartsop Above How, Hart Crag, Dove Crag, Little Hart Crag, High Hartsop Dodd, Hartsop Hall, Brothers Water
Start Point: Cow Bridge car park Grid Ref: NY 402 133
Distance: 8.5 miles Ascent: 3,030 feet
Weather: Overcast but mild Time: 5.75 hours
Comments: With a reasonable forecast Sheila and I headed up to the Lakes so she could cross off 3 more Wainwrights. The gradual climb onto Hartsop Above How was followed by a more severe climb up to Hart Crag. The rocky route from Hart Crag seemed to be easier to navigate than on previous occasions and it wasn't long before we reached Dove Crag. The route then descended to Little Hart Crag where we stopped for lunch. As we approached High Hartsop Dodd we met a couple who had climbed up from the valley so after a brief discussion we decided to return by that route instead of down Caiston Glen. The descent proved to be no problem as the path zig-zagged most of the way down. A pleasant walk.
